Oisin McGrath - DroneSAR

Oisin is a Military helicopter instructor/examiner. He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and has a passion for unmanned aircraft technology. He co-founded FlyRyte Drone Academy, International unmanned aircraft training centre and is also a certified military and civilian RPAS instructor and examiner. He has a love for Search and Rescue and recently co-founded DroneSAR, who have designed a software to enable all commercial drones with a range of rescue functions.

Gearoid Briain - FlyRyte Drone Academy

Gearoid is a Military flight instructor. His background is in fixed wing operations and is a qualified Crew Resource Management instructor. He previously co-founded iFly Technology and more recently FlyRyte Drone Academy, and is a certified military and civilian RPAS instructor and examiner. Gearoid has a degree in Business & Aviation Management, a diploma in psychology and recently won a scholarship for an MBA in Smurfit Business College.

Pat McHale - Chartered Engineer, BEng CEng MIEI

Pat McHale is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has worked in the Local Authority Sector in Ireland for most of his career. He is a graduate of Queens University, Belfast and has worked for the Department of Environment’s Water Service in Northern Ireland and within the Road Design Section of Mayo County Council. In 2011 he returned from a four year career break in the Middle East where he worked as a Project Manager on buildings. He joined the Community and Enterprise section of Mayo County Council working with community groups who were trying to develop their areas. Currently leading the Invest Section of the Enterprise and Investment Unit, his focus is on sustaining jobs, supporting growth and winning new investment.

Steven Flynn is an Emmy Award winning Filmmaker: Producer, Director, Director of Photography, Editor, and drone pilot. With a background in electronics and photography he honed his skill both as a photographer and editor, forming his own post-production company in 1996. Among his past clients are PBS, DISCOVERY, TRAVEL CHANNEL, HGTV, PAISLEY PARK. He moved to Ireland in 2012 and co-found Aerial Filming Ireland. Flying for big and small clients alike, he saw both the opportunities and the tensions in the booming drone economy. Captain Eoin Murphy - Defence Forces Training Centre

I joined the Defence Forces in 2006 and was commissioned in January 2008 to the Artillery Corps. I have served in the Artillery Corps my whole career and work primarily in the STA (Surveillance and Target Acquisition) part of the Corps. Within this part of Artillery we utilise the Orbiter 2 B m-UAV which I have been involved with for 5 years. My current job is as an instructor in the Artillery School in the DFTC (Defence Forces Training Centre) Curragh, Co. Kildare where I conduct and teach on a number of courses all within the STA sphere.

Topic: Will discuss a background of military UAV’s, the capabilities of our current system (Orbiter 2B), airspace safety and flying areas of the military.

Capt Julie Garland - RPAS Training International

Julie Garland is a founding member and was the first Chair of the Unmanned Aircraft Association of Ireland (UAAI) and arranged the first UAAI Annual Conference at Weston Airport in August 2015. She spearheaded the consultation group advising the IAA on the required changes to regulation within Ireland that led to the publishing of the Small Unmanned Aircraft (Drones) and Rockets Order in December 2015. She provides regular ongoing consultation to the IAA at all levels of drone operations from certification to training and approval of operators.
